Trees of Costa Rica

 This particular tree ranks very high on my list of favorite trees in the world. It lies smack dab in the center of an open field, and you can often see an assortment of animals gathered under it's broad shade.

I believe it is a Guanacaste tree, which apparently means "ear tree" named for it's ear shaped seed pods.

The Northern province of Costa Rica is also named Guanacaste, and the wood of this tree is highly valued as well.

I love it simply because of it's elegant and well designed shape.

This tree can be seen on the mountain side of the road as you head South to Encantada from Jaco, just after driving through Playa Hermosa.

The beach here is long and private. Perfect to enjoy some time away from it all.
Relax and enjoy all that nature has to offer.

La Michelada

The Michelada is an amazing way to stay fresh here in the tropical sun.

 You will  need a glass, some ice, fresh lime, salt and beer

 Salt the rim of your glass and add ice. Squeeze fresh lime juice over the ice.

 Add beer

Enjoy.

The Michelada is best enjoyed on the beach either during or after a sunny tropical day with someone that makes you laugh. 

Plumeria

 Plumeria can be found growing in different locations along the coast of Costa Rica. The scent of plumeria is intoxicating, and the flower is beautiful too.

Plumeria has an interesting history; being associated with religions, death, vampires and even to communicate a woman's relationship status in some cultures (Left ear if you are taken, right ear if you are looking.)

Our plumeria is in bloom right now. Come take a sniff.

Fantastic place to read a book, take a nap or snuggle

and of course the view from the beachfront hammocks is unbeatable. 

Ocean View Pool

 The pool at Encantada is one of my favorite amenities. It is pristine.

It is the centerpiece of the property, and is surrounded by the cottages.

You can even see the ocean and hear the waves of the Pacific while you relax in it's refreshiing waters.
